The recent episode “Korean American church trauma: pastors, oppas, and social media” and around 36-37min in, you can hear water in the background and it’s distracting lol Just want to let you know! Keep up the great content!

luddieterWell DoneI’m from the MacArthur Bible Tribe via my AA college ministry. I have since departed due to increasing politicization and disillusionment with my own experiences. Still largely hold to the same doctrine but have been recognizing more and more how our cultures and personalities shape our ministry almost as much, if not more, than our theology. This podcast helps me explore AA Christian culture as we’re no longer just a loose collection of young AA Millennials. We are now planting our own churches and becoming the “adults” in the room so it’s interesting to hear a focal point of views in this podcast. Although I don’t always agree with the podcasters views on everything, I really commend the effort and work and heart that goes into this. It’s also relieving to hear the thoughtfulness of the various hosts. The only critique (we’re Christians so come on, it’s in our blood to “lovingly give feedback”) is that sometimes you guys can be a little more concise so I’ve switched to listening to you at 1.5-2x speed lol.

christinemyungkimEnjoyable podcast 🙂A random find on my podcast suggestions list. I came for the funny and super relatable experiences in the Korean American youth group church culture and stayed for the diverse guests and honest conversations about Christian life in a secular world. A fun podcast mixed with serious conversations about church culture, race, deconstruction of faith, mental health, etc. Keep it up!

chyounMust listenBeautiful, courageous, authentic conversations about complex, nuanced conversations of Christianity. These conversations have brought a hardened, calloused heart of mine seeking Christ again.

ariyakesOne part fireside chat, one part theological mukbangI say one part fireside chat because of President Roosevelt was able to use his radio chats to explain his policies directly to the people in a way that was non-threatening and he was able to invoke national imagination. OTP does this as well. I also say one part theological mukbang, not because it’s a glutton of theological information, but because one of mukbang’s greatest appeal is because we get to witness the satisfaction of someone else eating great food. It’s a powerfully visceral connection. Eugene, Jason, and Thomas invite us to their discussion of “life, culture, and church off the pulpit” and it’s extremely satisfying to bear witness to their “consumption” of theological topics… from the perspective of the Asian American Church experience.

TimothyMablyAwesome, grounded insightHey guys! I’m grateful you started a podcast. It’s been so beneficial, especially for this year without being able to gather in my church.

geraldkchengFantastic podcast, especially for Asian American Christians! As a second gen Asian American Christian, this podcast really hit home for me. I stumbled upon this show after the Capitol riots, when I was searching for answers about how to comprehend politics from a political perspective. The three pastors bring so much wisdom and insight into the topics they present. Please continue to put out content, I would appreciate a continued conversation on politics post-Trump as well :)

alpal_hongRefreshing!I love the authenticity that the 3 pastors share in their episodes. I enjoy hearing their perspectives because sometimes I resonate with them and sometimes I learn/recognize different point of views. It really is refreshing in times like these to just listen to the 3 pastors speak in a raw and genuine way. AND I actually laugh out loud sometimes!! I encourage everyone to take a listen.

HkchoichoiGreat speakers and insightsI’m fortunate to have access to dialogue with my pastors to ask questions about topics like missions, worship, politics that often don’t make the Sunday conversations and sermons. I don’t know that all Christians and seekers have the same opportunity but in these podcasts you can hear the thoughts of pastors on topics away from the pulpit. I love hearing three different pastors discuss the topics they do - they share their opinions and offer thoughtful and thought-provoking commentary on issues that I normally wouldn’t think should be open to discussion. The pastors are all intelligent, open, and humorous.
