Leaving one star until one of you decide to make me (a random girl in college with no fame) one of your special guests.

Late stage capitalism is a trip
Is there anything more bleak than these self described clowns clawing for yet more money by launching a cell phone service? As if squeezing every last cent from streaming and merch wasn’t enough. What’s next—buying a Welsh football club? Oh wait. At what point is the pile of cash high enough, guys? The sheer cynicism of it all is suffocating.

Gone too far to the left
I did love this show and the guys in general. But I can’t anymore with the far left garbage they believe in. They seem to hold the very people who really don’t lead and clearly support violent behavior on a pedestal. They are so far out of touch with the every day “man and woman” its ridiculous. They seem to have changed from being funny with banter to pushing their own far left agenda. They support the very people who can’t stand and honor the victims who have been murdered by illegals or a young boy with cancer. All because they hate Trump that much. That is who these “men” support. And that tells me everything.

    I’m out
They lost me. Between the weird guest choices, lack of preparedness, constant interruptions of guests, repeated unfunny jokes, constant Sean bullying and now this WEIRD mobile service plan venture? I’m out!

    Bateman is insufferable
Bateman is insufferable. The ego and arrogance of that guy is mind blowing. I’m not exactly sure why these actors who get paid to pretend to be other people seem to think they’re experts on foreign policy, healthcare and politics… You can’t make this stuff.
  • nononsensenance
    Used to love
Asking long drawn-out questions, talking over guests, being mean to Sean is all getting old. I keep trying to listen when the guest interests me, but I often stop mid-episode due to frustration. Not as fun anymore.
  • Kimster61
    Stand up
I challenge Will, Jason and Sean to be the first celebs in Hollywood to stand up for the United States. I’m not talking about Trump. Think what you will about him. But this country, this FREE country needs you to tell people to stop burning the flag and stop waging war against people that don’t agree with them. PLEASE be the voice of reason. I’m begging you.
  • FixinTo
    I’m done
I’ve listened since day one for the purpose of entertainment (choosing to delete biased political guest episodes). But Jason’s comments as a guest on another podcast suggesting that Trump voters need a “talking to” while referencing Clinton’s “deplorable” label showed his contempt for the very people that watch his shows and movies, thereby supporting his career - which I will no longer do. I’ll miss Sean and Will.

    Politics Jason? Really?
What was once one of my favorite podcasts will now be unfollowed due to statements made with the ignorant hubris only an extremely privileged moron could muster. Sorry Will and Sean. You will be missed.

    Never again
You guys are funny, but the disdain Jason shows his long-time listener(s) by suggesting we need a “talking-to”?? Wow - this is a special kind of pompous.

Will needs to let others soeak
Will, really loves the sound of his own voice. He seems to take over every single interview, whether it's his guest or not. It's really annoying what other people speak. He speaks over the guest he speaks over Sean especially. He's like a bulldozer. Try to be quiet for a while Will. The more I listen to this and I've been listening for years the more it's becoming the will show and it's getting really tiresome.

Been listening since day 1. Excellent content, light humor and don’t let these guys fool you; they are very smart!

    Veering into dangerous health advice?
Generally pretty funny but recently starting to recommend pseudoscience nonsense, like deadly woo-woo treatments for cancer. Are they going the direction of Joe Rogan? Come on, guys. Be better.

    Nearly unlistenable
The most recent episode with Parker Posey might be my last smartless episode. Throughout the entire episode, Parker gets cut off right before saying something profound, insightful, or informative, and it’s so disrespectful. She laughs it off a couple times but you can tell lately that every single guest is just fighting for their life and pushing through because they quickly try to pick up their story but then just get re-steamrolled by stupid jokes we’ve heard far too many times. I am so over having a good guest dangled like a carrot only to have to listen to 3 rich white men mock them and disrespect them. I used to love this podcast during the pandemic, it was hilarious and fantastic. Sadly it’s been all downhill from there.

Sean— Huntington Gardens and Pie N Burger!
Sean, quite a long time ago you were chatting with a guest about your favorite things to do in LA. You raved about Huntington Gardens, followed by (of course) lunch at nearby Pie-N-Burger. I made a note of it at the time and finally, all this time later, I went yesterday. Loved both, and thought of you. Thank you! Kristen

    Still Listening But…
Love so much of the pod and love you guys. But it’s starting to get lazy. Research guests more, ask real questions, and for Christ sake let them answer the question. Please stop the Italian man bit. It stopped being funny months ago. Also, do not give medical advice as rich (out of touch) celebrities who think you can cure cancer by changing your diet/lifestyle. Yikes. Please go back to the first year when you can tell how much you tried!

Be relatable and let Sean talk.
I used to love this show. However, lately the tone has changed and is not funny anymore. It’s just a bunch of Hollywood people talking about things that are not relatable or understandable to normal people. Also, I find REALLY frustrating how they keep talking over Sean. I know it’s all fun and he doesn’t care, but he is the only one actually asking well formulated interesting questions, but he’s not able to ask them because the other two just want to make fun of him.

    Used to Be Good
When they first started, I was hesitant for another podcast of white dudes talking to each other but as I gave it a few listens I grew to enjoy it. They are funny people. But in the years since, I’ve just gotten so tired of Jason and Will’s CONSTANT ragging on Sean. Like, we get it. Move on and stop picking on the sweetest person in the room just because it’s easy. On top of that, the incessant talking over each other and the guest has become so unbearable. They haven’t done anything to enhance or grow or change the show over the years and instead have just continued to lean on their same dumb tropes and I’ve just gotten so tired of it. Plus, Shane Gillis? Really? Are they trying to appeal to the manosphere bc they’re losing listeners? No thanks. I was once a proud subscriber that told everyone about the show, but not anymore.

    Ambivalent
I’m a huge fan of Jason , loved Arrested Development and Will. The thing I don’t like is the insider references. For example In the Poehler episode they were reminiscing about early days and saying “remember Dratch and someone “. They also become over the top fanboys. Everyone is great, awesome the best. I like it but don’t love it.

    Laughter than is Pure Gold
This podcast is the best podcast I have ever listened to and I’ve listen to a lot. Listening to Jason, Will, and Sean and their guests such a highlight of my day and when listening to them it’s like I’m sitting there with them in a room and just laughing away and can’t breath. I can’t get enough of these three and their jabs and cutting remarks to each other…it seriously is the best and I am so glad that this exists in our crazy world. Laughing along with Sean is like laughing with an old friend and I’m so glad I have this podcast in my life. Nothing on television, on the big screen, or on any podcast platform is better than Smartless. Thank you Jason, Will, and Sean so very much, you truly don’t understand how much you three mean to us die hard fans.
  • gonefishcaking
    Great most of the time
Occasionally they have guests I could care less about. But thankful they align with me morally and will continue to love these guys because of it. Their interviewing skills aren’t great, and seeing the same guests appear between this and FotW shows they are just cycling thru the same list of celebs. Will and JB are my favorite however, not on this show they aren’t. 😵‍💫

    OMG its Bojacks voice!
Listening to my second podcast i thought, oh thats lego batman cool! After several more episodes i realized oh s it! That Effin Bojack! omgomgomgomgomg. Also, Lego Batman was the best batman! Thank you story tellers for the podcast. Just realized Jason was in Teen wolf, Holy effin sh t.

    Guests are window dressing
The hit rate of actually letting a guest answer a question has got to be less than 25%. Sometimes that’s funny, sometimes it’s hella annoying. It’s gotten way worse in the last 1-2 years.

    Picking on Sean
I used to like them, but I don’t find them much funny anymore. I think constantly bullying Sean is getting really old.

    As a rule…
…I enjoy this pod a lot. But let’s get far, far away from the political guests unless you want to drive people away. It’s entirely up to you.

    Absolute favorite
I love this show so much. It’s a welcome break from the serious or more formally structured pods… and also regularly makes me laugh out loud. My favorite shows are when they get other improv comedians on … Amy P and Paul Rudd are two favs.
  • PGRLover
Interviewing each other instead of guest every episode is crazy!
I have followed this show for awhile and used to enjoy it. At some point the guests became aligned with movies or tv shows which took some of the fun away of the surprise guest. Felt more like a press junket check off than a fun surprise. Anyways, I’ve found it more and more difficult to listen. The constant interrupting of guests and then posing questions to each other instead of to the guest is just annoying at this point. The inappropriately timed inside jokes that make guests uncomfortably laugh. Jason asks the most long winded questions that could be said simply in under 10 words. Sean is constantly cut off. Will and his self important persona is so cringe. Not for me anymore…
  • Deenajo
    Leave poor Sean alone!
I think the show would be better if they didn’t pick on Sean so much and they let the guest speak! Sometimes I just turn it off because they like to hear themselves speak.
  • Brian from South Lyon

Long time listener and will be a continued listener because you all are hilarious. I do however wish you had guests with differing ideological political affiliations. It’s probably pretty easy to talk with politicians you fully support…would love to hear you converse with someone with different world views. You might enjoy it!
  • Dtrap1234
    Used to be great
The last thing I want in my humor is politics. When Bateman went off the deep end and they started putting on politicians it ruined it for me. The last people I expect to have a legitimate political conversation with is a bunch of Hollywood yahoo’s. Sorry Will. You’re one of the funniest people out there.
  • Pleasestopswearingsomuch
    Enjoy it
Enjoy it with the exception of Will dropping the f bomb every other word
  • Mickey Ladeeda
    Thank you!
Jason, Will, Sean: thank you! I love your personal banter and conversations with guests! They reveal a personal side not heard in canned interviews. I love the inside backstories, it’s like listening to friends stories. So much new content never heard. I like industry details and these three have unique industry experiences and even offer advice to listeners. They’re very real, flaws and accomplishments. Thank you for sharing your friendship too. Men can learn how to be a friend from them too. Much continued success! You’re doing it right!
