Best pastry chefExcellent Podcast for Math Teachers!I recently discovered Mr. Barton through a recommendation to read his book "How I Wish I'd Taught Maths." Now I am an avid Mr. Barton fan! This podcast is an excellent resource for math teachers who want to learn from other math teachers and researchers. I listen to it on my commute to and from work, and it makes me feel inspired to do my job! As a first year teacher, I have found this resource super helpful in learning about different teaching models, gaining a better understanding about the research being done in education, and finding new resources and materials to use for my classes. I highly recommend it for anyone in math education at all levels of experience!

mrs_severA FavoriteThis is definitely one of my favorite podcasts. Mr. Barton’s conversations with amazing teachers are enlightening, thought provoking and entertaining. I have learned immensely from him and his guests not only about math teaching but also about education in different parts of the world. Please, continue your amazing work and continue being perpetually curious!

spin911Amazing teaching professional development podcastThis is an amazing podcast for teachers - K-12 and beyond - or those who have an interest in learning - to dive into. Really long, in-depth episodes (2 hours+ is norm) with all the major cognitive science researchers and thoughtful “chalkface” practitioners in the areas of memory, Cognitive Load Theory, formative assessment, and teacher training among other subjects. New episodes are great but don’t sleep on the wide back catalogue. It’s wonderful to hear from returning guests as the host asks them ‘what have you changed your mind on?’ Important to see how researchers continue to think and evolve what is “known”. Also would recommend Craig Barton’s book(s) and his websites are wonderful teaching resources (albeit only for math).

Randall88809Fantastic resource - not just for math teachersCraig takes you along on his journey to learn from true experts in the field of math teaching. In each episode he drills deep into his guest’s beliefs and practices for teaching in general as well as teaching math in particular. Craig asks the questions you want him to ask, and makes a practice of challenging the guest to learn more. There is a firm foundation in research, lots of resources provided by Craig and guest, and I have never listened to a podcast without a page of notes and something that has transformed my teaching in a significant way.

RTnottakenyetBest Education Podcast I’ve found!I’m a new CTE teacher in California, coming from the Silicon Valley startup world. I have tried out a dozen plus ed and ed tech podcasts and while I’ve only listened to the 2 interviews w Dylan Wiliam, these are by far my fav. I learned more and got more leads of stuff to follow up on that at an entire 3 day conference. I’m looking forward to listening to more!

PapadudCan’t get enough! As a teacher with 25 years experience, I can’t get enough of these discussions. I came across and joined late (a couple weeks ago), but I love listening to these when I walk the dog or go for my afternoon walk. Every one that I’ve listened to so far has given me something to think about and have become some of the best personal (and free) PD that I’ve experienced. Keep them coming!!

LoseyourlifeBest podcast on math instructionMr. Barton‘s podcast is better than it world-class university education. He gives you much to think about in regards to math instruction and education research. Thank you Mr. Barton for letting us benefit from your hard work!

leves314Wonderful PodcastI really enjoy this podcast! It is informative and focuses on all aspects of pedagogy, from lesson planning to writing good multiple choice questions. The host is humble, reflective, and obviously passionate about teaching. I also love how the podcast is not about promoting the latest fads in education; there are enough of those podcasts out there. My only complaint is that the episodes can be too much of a good thing. While I like the conversational style of the interviews and they are never rushed, many episodes are about two hours long, with some approaching three hours. I cannot keep up with the podcast episodes when they are so long. If they were an hour long, that would be ideal.

Colin HeydtGreat podcastI’m a university professor in philosophy and I love this podcast—the guests are great and Barton is a fabulous host (charmingly self-deprecating, smart, earnest).
